Director’s Profile
Dr. A.S. Mudgal, (born in 1960), did his AIC( M.Sc. in Industrial Analytical Chemistry from Institution of Chemists, Kolkata) followed by his Ph.D. in Residual Pesticide, while working in Shri Ram Institute for Industrial Research*,Delhi. He carried out research and technical commercial activities at Shri Ram Institute for Industrial Research (SRI) for about 23 years (1982-2005) in different laboratories as Sr. Scientist. In the initial stages of his career itself; he gained rich experience in quality control of polymers and quality control of agrochemicals. He also worked for a decade in the calibration laboratory of the research institute where he alibrated countless analytical instruments from different fields, further adding to his body of knowledge and expertise.He moved from Shri Ram Institute for Industrial Research to Standard Analytical Laboratories & then SIMA lab as ‘Executive Director ‘ taking up complete responsibility of the laboratory’s technical as well as administrative domains.
He has been the key person in setting up Packaged Drinking Water Testing, Drug Testing, Food Testing and Calibration Laboratories at several commercial laboratories during his career along with helping them get accreditation by NABL, ISO, BIS, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Drug Authority, Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) etc.He is an approved Chemist for Environmental testing from MoEF, approved Chemist of drug andPharmaceutical from Delhi Govt.,trained microbiologist from Himachal Govt and he is also trained as ISO 17025 Internal Auditor for NABL.
In the recent years he has emerged as an expert in the quality control of drugs and pharmaceuticals. In 2009, he took over as General Manager (Technical Services) in the Ozone Group of Pharmaceutical Industries and thereafter went on to establish ‘Alcatec Research Laboratory’ as Director and Owner of the company in 2011. Alcatec Research Laboratory (ARL) is testimony to his abounding experience, towering spirits and the determination to set-up his own laboratory. ARL follows Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) as prescribed by Drug Control Act and ARL has one of the best Microbiology Laboratory amid commercial players. Currently ARL is working in the field of pharmaceutical testing and employs about 40 people. After putting ARL on way to its expansion in the field of Food, Environment and Packaged Drinking Water Testing and bringing the system on an auto-pilot mode,Dr. Mudgal exited ARL in 2015.
